Watering the Night Garden Jewel Box

Inspiration:
A moonlit garden union. The romance of turning towards and tending your interiority, bringing revitalization and rehydration to what needs it. The pleasure of partnership, or the varied parts of ourselves, moving in intuitive unison. Tobacco flowers release their fragrance into the cool air, and the sphinx moths come by to drink their nectar. Cactus and datura blooms glow moon-white, while the stars themselves bloom above in the dark. The steady cultivation of sanctuary, the acts that clear the way for a sense of freedom like flowing water.

The box was crafted with care by Roy Arthur Blodgett from beautiful old growth Douglas fir, and has been finished with a mix of natural dark tung oil and citrus solvent.

With time, the copper will form a patina, which is part of the magic of the material! If desired, you can lightly buff the metal with very fine grade steel wool to bring some of the shine back to the high parts of the relief imagery. This will increase the depth and contrast of the images. These boxes will age well.
