Spring Reawakening Treasure Box

Inspiration:
The garden in springtime has come out of dormancy and is becoming a complex tangle of life. The sweet combination of calm and chaos of a reawakening, the glorious sense of being in the thick of it! Loving hands tending the fragrant sun-warmed sanctuary, where butterfly wings open and lizards bask as the days lengthen, ripening the strawberries and roses.

Materials:

The box was crafted with care by Roy Arthur Blodgett from beautiful old growth Douglas fir, and has been finished with a mix of natural dark tung oil and citrus solvent.

With time, the copper will form a patina, which is part of the magic of the material! If desired, you can lightly buff the metal with very fine grade steel wool to bring some of the shine back to the high parts of the relief imagery. This will increase the depth and contrast of the images. These boxes will age well.
